Dr. Katerina Zacharopoulou is a pathologist who lives and works in Dusseldorf, Germany, but is originally from Athens, Greece. In 2004 she graduated from the Justus-Liebig University Gießen as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). After her specialisation in internal medicine, she worked for almost 10 years in different hospitals and departments in Germany.
She currently works as a pathologist in a psychiatric and psychosomatic clinic and in a rehabilitation addiction recovery centre. Moreover, she specialises in palliative care medicine and is a certified doctor for Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also a certified acupuncturist.
In 2021 she received a certification as a psychology consultant and a tobacco cessation counselor. She has completed different courses in health coaching, nutrition, and Lifestyle Medicine. By the end of 2022 she will have completed her specialisation in Sexual Health Medicine.
Katerina Zacharopoulou has a strong interest in the field of trauma, complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) and the way these affect chronic diseases.
In 2021, she became an ELMO (European Lifestyle Medicine Organization) Country Representative in Germany. She is highly interested in the promotion a healthy lifestyle through behavioral change. Through social media and her instagram account „un_hook_“, she informs people about physical and psychological conditions.
